The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, says though God is merciful, He is not a Father Christmas and as such He can be “wonderfully angry.”
He spoke on Friday during the 68th Annual Convention of the church, which held virtually because of the lockdown occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic.
During the programme themed, ‘Wonderful’, Adeboye, who preached on the topic, ‘Seven Wonderful Things About God’, implored his church members and thousands of viewers from all over the world to turn away from sinful lifestyles because “Psalm 7:11 says God is angry with the wicked every day.”
The 78-year-old preacher said, “Don’t say I didn’t tell you, my children, I don’t know which convention will be the last one.
“The Lord may return before we have another convention. I don’t know when Jesus may return, but if any of you fails to make it to heaven, it will not be because I didn’t tell you the whole truth. God can be wonderfully angry.
“Watch your steps those of you who are playing games with the all-seeing God. God is angry with the wicked every day.
“Your life is in His hands and He can decide your last breath. But if you surrender your life to Him today, God can still save your soul and give you a brand new beginning.”
According to him, the size of his God is wonderful: His Love, Mercy, Glory, Name, and Anger are all wonderful.
Adeboye noted that the wrath of God could be dangerous, saying, “There is always one prayer I always pray. That’s my secret I’m telling you now.
“I’m not asking for money, I’m not asking for clothes, I know my God is more than sufficient.
“Only one prayer I pray: God, don’t let me ever annoy You.
“And He has proved to me that the more He loves you, the more you must be careful.”
Continuing, the pastor said, “It doesn’t matter what anybody may tell you, my God is not a Father Christmas.
“Oh yes, He is love and His love is wonderful. But, according to Hebrews 12:6, the Bible says whomsoever He loves, He chastens and scourges every son He receives.
“If He loves you and you are special to Him, be careful, don’t toy with Him. In Revelation 3:19, He says, as many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. He says be zealous and therefore repent. Don’t mess with God.
“If God loves you, He will not leave you on your own. He won’t allow you to go ahead and do whatever you want because it is written in Proverbs 29:15 that a child left to himself will bring shame.
“Hebrews 12:29 made it clear, yes, God is love but He is also the consuming fire. Hebrews 10:31 says it is a very dangerous thing to fall into the hands of the living God,” he added.

The Champions League has always eluded City and has been out of Guardiola’s reach since his glory days at Barcelona – but if this quality and discipline can be maintained, this could be the season that all changes.
Real miss Ramos’ steel
Real Madrid captain Ramos was a noisy presence from his seat behind the technical area as he encouraged his team-mates on the pitch – but Zidane would have given anything to have him out there alongside them.
The 34-year-old remains a magnificent defender with real presence and at the Etihad Real paid a heavy price for his red card in the first leg of this quarter-final, played at the Bernabeu six months ago.
His organisation and composure was badly missed with his usual central defensive partner Varane – upon whom the burden of responsibility fell in Ramos’ absence – suffering a personal nightmare.
Jesus was Varane’s tormentor in chief, robbing him of possession to set up Sterling’s opener – his 100th goal for the club – then chasing down his weak attempt at a headed back-pass to score City’s crucial second.
Real have the quality of Benzema as a constant threat in attack but Ramos is still the glue that holds this team together and they came badly unstuck in the face of City’s desire and energy.

Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Adarju Adamu Juliet. I am 28 years old. I am a trader. I am from the Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.

Where do you reside?
I stay in Maiduguri but I am in Damaturu, Yobe State, currently.
Why did you relocate to Damaturu?
I was no longer comfortable in Maiduguri following the incident that happened?
Can you narrate what happened?
Early in January, 2020, my mother fell ill. So, my elder sister told me to bring her to Maiduguri for treatment. On our way to Maiduguri, along Damaturu road, we heard gunshots. The people who fired the shots came out with their faces covered and stopped us. Three of us in the vehicle were women. The armed men asked for our names and religion. Those of us who identified ourselves as Christians were separated and I was the only lady among them. After that, they collected all we had and told our driver to leave with my mother because they would take me away.
What happened to the remaining passengers?
They released them and told the driver to go without the three of us. I was the only lady among them. They order us into the bush. As we were walking, they asked me again if I am a Christian. They asked me whether I would deny my faith so that they would set me free. But I refused. They asked me if I wanted to be like Leah Sharibu and I said yes. So, they released the two other passengers who were Muslims.
Did they tell you whether Leah Sharibu is alive or dead?
They said she is alive.
Did they tell you where she is?
No. They said she was married to their commander.
Were your abductors Boko Haram members?
Some of them were Boko Haram members while some were a group of kidnappers operating from the bush and working with Boko Haram. The insurgents used to come to our location to ask the kidnappers the number of victims they had in their custody. They collected money from the kidnappers any time they came, and if the victim is a woman, they took her away.
What did your abductors do next?
They told me to choose between denying my faith so as to regain my freedom or they would call a Boko Haram member to take me to Sambisa forest. I wept and told them I would not deny my faith. I cried throughout that day because my mother was sick and didn’t know anywhere in Maiduguri.
Did they demand a ransom from your family?
They told me to give them the phone number of any of my guardians so that they would inform my family that I had been kidnapped. But I told them that my dad is late and I didn’t have anyone; it is my pastor that has been a father to me. Truly, my dad died when I was three years old. They collected my pastor’s number and told him that his daughter had been kidnapped. They told him that they had not concluded on whether they would kill me, give me away to the Boko Haram insurgents or collect a ransom. After calling the family of a victim, they remove the SIM card and discard it. When they saw that I was crying because I was worried about my mother’s whereabouts, they decided not to give me away to the Boko Haram insurgents. But they argued among themselves on this before reaching a conclusion to collect a ransom for my release.
How much did they demand from your guardian?
They demanded N5m.
What did he say?
He pleaded with them not to hurt me as he would look for the money and give it to them. He also pleaded with them to reduce the ransom to N2m and they agreed. The people who abducted me were over 50 in number. While I was there, some Boko Haram members came and told my abductors that they were not comfortable with my presence in the forest. They told the kidnappers to release me for a ransom or kill me because they didn’t like me and didn’t want to see my face. So, my abductors called my pastor and threatened to kill me after three days, if he didn’t bring the money.
Was the ransom paid?
The pastor tried his best, with the help of other Christians, to raise N1.5m. They told him to bring the N1.5m because they were under pressure from Boko Haram to either release me or kill me. They told the pastor how to deliver the money to them. They later dumped me somewhere and told me to find my way from there.
How did you find your way home?
When I got to a major road, I cried for help before I was assisted by some persons.
How many days did you spend in captivity?
I spent two weeks and some days.
Were you maltreated by your abductors?
I was beaten on the first day and I spent a week without eating. But they gave me water in the second week. I later fell ill and had pneumonia.
Were you sexually assaulted?
No.
Were there other victims there with you?
Yes. There was a policeman who was kidnapped and his wife was told to pay a ransom. When the wife brought the money, she came with her baby and her husband’s friend who had a gun. When the abductors realised that her husband’s friend had a gun, they killed the policeman, his wife, the baby and his friend. They were shot.
Were they shot in your presence?
I heard the gunshots. But they later showed me the corpses and warned that they might do the same thing to my pastor. There was also a lady who was swallowed by a python in the forest.
How did that happen?
The lady was trying to escape when she encountered the python.
Did you see the python swallowing the lady?
Yes.

‘He takes his [penis] out, and I remember this vividly, I’m crying,’ she said, adding that Jeremy pressed his penis so hard against her that it injured her vagina.
After raping her, he led her back inside the club before handing her a note that read, ‘You would cry, I hope … if I ever leave.’
Elle continued; ‘You have everyday citizens who are already excusing and validating his sexual assaults because we work in an industry where we are whores,”‘
Rumors of Jeremy’s alleged sexual misconduct have circulated in the porn industry for decades but no one came out to publicly report it or alert authorities.
But in 2017, adult entertainer Ginger Banks compiled a series of allegations against Jeremy during a 10-minute YouTube video.
Months afterward, Rolling Stone published allegations made by a dozen other pornstars who said Jeremy either groped them or, as two alleged victims detailed, violently raped them.

The woman, who pleaded anonymity said she was horrified that Jeremy was invited to the party in the first place
According to the woman, Jeremy put her hand on his penis, without her consent.
The woman said Jeremy led her away from the partygoers and toward the back of the building where he pressed her up against a railing and forced himself inside her.
She said she tried to shout ‘help me’ to others at the party but no.one took notice.
‘He bends me over the railing at the restaurant, lifts up my dress and does his thing,’ she told the Times.
‘I’m in shock. I don’t really know how to process what’s going on because it’s such a public area. What do you do?’
The woman says the attack lasted nearly 15 minutes. ‘I feel guilty that I didn’t scream or anything. I guess I didn’t know how to react,’ she said.
Colleen Pinto, a former adult film actress and exotic dancer in Florida, also accused Jeremy of grabbing her breasts during an appearance at a strip club in 2005.
When Pinto tried to pull away from Jeremy, she says he smacked her in the breast with a microphone.
‘Any of us that were ever dancers or in the porn industry, we all have a Ron story,’ the 46-year-old Pinto said. ‘You don’t ever meet Ron without him doing something to you.’
According to Alana Evans, the head of the adult performers union, numerous women have complained of Jeremy running his hands up their skirt and trying to penetrate them without consent.
‘He’s done that to me,’ Evans told the Times. ‘When enough women describe something that you have felt, then you know, OK, it’s absolutely real.’
