Okuku day celebration is an annual event in Okuku which is organised by the town committee under the leadership of Olokuku of Okuku, Oba Samuel Abioye Oyebode Oluronke II. It is usually performed and celebrated by representatives from all the four ruling houses in Okuku including all the chiefs and entire community. It is widely participated by all community members in Okuku and it attracts all important dignitaries from all walks of life from all over over the country. It is a remarkable day for all, including all the children of Okuku from both far and near who usually converge in Okuku for the celebration. It is also celebrated with selected dancers from the community.
The ruling houses are: Edun, Oyewusi, Oyeleye and Oyekunle. The event attracts healthy rivalries and competition for the betterment and development of the community.
Okuku stands out amidst other towns in Odo-Otin Local Government area of Osun State. The people, history , arts, culture and tradition of Okuku have enjoyed rich scholarly attention and documentation due to the rich Yoruba heritage of this ancient town. Significantly, Okuku is renowned for its vast collection of beaded crowns, ade isenbaye, and other important royal regalia. These are always exhibited during the annual Oloku festival, which brings together all sons and daughters of Okuku community.
